Aernoudt Jacobs & Jeroen Uyttendaele (Be)

This exhibition invites to discover the installations of Aernoudt Jacobs and Jeroen Uyttendaele, members of the Brussels-based sound art production Overtoon. Putting together technology and ingenuity, both installations have one common feature : they make physical phenomenons edible. In order to do so, Vonkveld3 by Jeroen Uyttendaele presents a table covered with copper chips unpredictably crossed by electric discharges, creating fields of sparks. An audiovisual and visceral piece that honors the miracle of electricity.

Induction series by Aernoudt Jacobs reinterprets the laws of electromagnetic induction into sounds. The installation takes the shape of a floating structure made of white-iron boxes that vibrate under the influence of a magnetic field. These vibrations are subtle enough not to be seen but sufficiently powerful to generate sounds.

<Lambda> comes as part of a series of exhibitions in Rennes and Caen produced by Interstices in collaboration with Overtoon, with the backing of the Flanders State of The Arts.
