Lubomyr Melnyk, is a Ukrainian pianist and knows an unprecedented international recognition at the age of 65, with a signature on the label by Nils Frahm: Erased Tapes. Classically trained, he then turned to minimalist and contemporary music in the early 1970s to invent his own language: the continuous piano music, consisting of a continuous flow of sounds. Lubomyr Melnyk is a piano virtuoso able to play up to 19 notes per second, he pushes the limits of his instrument and builds a construction with an harmonic delicacy and rhythmic imagination.
