Expérience 7

Klara Lewis (SE)

EXPERIENCE is a program dedicated to digital creativity and electronic experimentations together with inventive machinery. An open space of Maintenant, laboratory of artistic innovations, useful to discover experimental forms.

Klara Lewis daughter of Graham Lewis, legendary bass player of post-punk group Wire, is also inspired by prestigious artists like James Brown, Apex Twin or Portishead. Her music does not seem to have a lot in common with them at first, expect for her appetite for risk combined with catchy melodies. She is also capable of democratising the most complex sound experiment. The 23 years old Swedish musician already signed – on the demanding Austrian label Mego (Fennesz, Jim O’Rourke…) – two bewitching albums, enriched by grainy sonic textures and steamy melodies, shaping gorgeous abstract landscape.

Klara Lewis during Maintenant 2016 is supported by SHAPE Platform. SHAPE is an initiative co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
