International symposium – Interaction in music

Myriam Bleau (QC/CA), V4W.ENKO (UA) ...

With the emergence of more and more efficient technologies, innovation reached sound arts. Art practices renew themselves and new connections to the audience appear. Among the remarkable innovations, interaction in every shape and form (gestural interfaces, smart tracking, spatialisation devices, etc.) is particularly appreciated by the artists and the audience. Several musical styles, from improvisation to composition, from electronic musics to learned forms of electro-acoustic, use interaction. The international symposium INTERACT offers to ask the consequences of these different forms of interaction in nowadays music. Demonstrations, installations and concerts will be presented to the researchers and the audience.

The international symposium is offered by the research team: « Arts : Practices and Poetry » from the University of Rennes 2, in partnership with the cultural service of the Univeristy of Rennes 2, with the support of the SFAM (French Society for Musical Analysis), Rennes Métropole, the research commission of Rennes 2 and the participation of the ANR MUSICOLL. The presence of V4W.ENKO is enabled by the SHAPE plateform, an initiative co-founded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
