Andreas Trobollowitsch (AT), Thomas Laigle (FR) & Nkisi (UK/BE)

Andreas Trobollowitsch (AT)Santa Melodica Orchestra

Conducted by Andreas Trobollowitsch, the Santa Melodica Orchestra offers an unusual sound performance for twenty five local musicians manipulating melodicas, tubes and balloons. During the show, each one of them makes his unusual instrument oscillate at a given speed. The rotations of the tubes create vibrations, or arpeggios both hypnotic and lively.

According to changes of speed and coordinated motions, the performers transform the concert in a kinetic demonstration of virtuosity that evolves constantly. The orchestra then changes into a giant mobile organ generating a music that is as heady as fanciful!

Thomas Laigle (FR)

m-O-m (a possible acronym for Magnetic-Orchestral-Music) is born from a fascination: amplifying the light in order to listen to it. The performance of Thomas Laigle converts the vibratory power of lamps and other light sources into sounds, that he arranges to create a real-time music as brutal as lyrical, mixing electric noise and a technoid rhythm. An immersive concert-installation one listens to and experiments with all senses in demand.

Nkisi (UK/BE)

Co-founder of the Non Worldwide collective, that gathers African artists or coming from the diaspora, Melika Ngombe Kolongo aka Nkisi offers in her sets as in her productions a dark music (actually her last EP is called The Dark Orchestra) with frantic rhythms and multiple influences, from the most extreme techno to the sounds of west-African clubs, by way of ambient pads. The ethics and the music of Nkisi are steeped in a certain punk sensitivity and a political thrust against conformity.
