Virtual & augmented realities: Exploring new artistic languages
Interactive designer, motion designer & musical composer, Yann Deval questions and increases reality to create interactive experiences and explore new languages. Between extended realities, animated graphics and digital lutherie, Yann Deval will present his interdisciplinary career and his transversal artistic approach. On the agenda of this conference are questions about the use of emerging technologies in an artistic context, performative virtual reality and collaborative creation.
After a degree in Film History at the Sorbonne and audiovisual editing studies in Cannes, Yann Deval moved to Brussels in 2006, where he developed an activity as a graphic designer (motion designer), musical composer and interactive designer. He works for cinema (Jaco Van Dormael’s Le Tout Nouveau Testament, Michel Gondry’s L’Ecume des Jours), video-clip (Puggy, Sacha Toorop), documentary (Babel Express’s graphic identity for Arte), television (Detectives), communication (Shanghai World Expo 2010), theatre… He occasionally trains future professionals during digital creation workshops (Arts² Mons school, EMMD Brussels…). Between 2012 and 2017, he co-directed the virtual reality performance Immersio, which mixes live music and digital arts.
