Born in the Paris suburbs, Alexis Molenat set his course for a career in music at a very early age as part of the surf-rock trio The Cavaliers. For ten years, he raced through the independent scene: hardcore punk with FixiT, synth-pop with Calypso, theatre collaborations and studio projects alongside Forever Pavot and La Femme. It was his adoption of his first analogue keyboards and drum machines (Casio CT403, Roland Juno 6) that marked a decisive turning point in his career.
Now based in Rennes, the artist, under the pseudonym Lumière, explores electronic sounds with an obsession for synthetic aesthetics and video game music. From his cult projects dedicated to the Casio sound to the creation of his own label, C:\MUSIQUE.EXE, he crafts a unique brand of retro-electronic music that is both nostalgic and resolutely visionary.
In 2026, he composed the sound design for the video game based on Elly Oldman’s artwork La Planète d’Au-Dessus de la Terre.
