Ben Bertrand

Ben Bertrand is a Belgian clarinettist who hijacks his instrument using loops and effect pedals. In this way, the artist transforms the clarinet’s sounds into electronic sounds and creates a hypnotic musical journey. A synthesis of very diverse influences, Ben Bertrand’s universe revolves around traditional and ancestral music, American minimalists such as Steve Reich or Terry Riley, as well as contemporary electronic music. The composer skilfully bridges the gap between extreme modernity and references to the past.
