A pianist by training, Fabrizio Rat is anything but classical. He is best known for his solo concert La Machina, an impressive performance exploring the border between human and machine, acoustic and electronic music. An Italian keyboardist and music producer based in Paris, he excels in concerts and performances mixing acoustic and electronic music – in particular prepared piano and analog synthesizers. Fabrizio Rat co-founded Cabaret Contemporain, an ensemble of musicians who approach the electronic sounds of synthesizers and drum machines with acoustic instruments and means (techniques, preparations, playing modes).
