Born in Niort in 1992, Hugo Baranger grew up in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, immersing himself in its colours and landscapes as the basis for his iconography. His vision problems, diagnosed late in life, have shaped his vision, with blurred areas and focus problems. After graduating in fine arts from the École européenne supérieure de l’image in Angoulême in 2016, he co-founded the artists’ collective Nani$ôka, focusing on “Celebration as a political and artistic space, making in concert. Spirituality and digital space. Rhythms and Rites of Homo Numéricus“. Based in Zagreb since 2022, Hugo Baranger has exhibited worldwide from Quebec (CA) to Shanghai (CN) via Bordeaux, Marseille and Strasbourg (FR).
