Electroni[k] 2002

In 2002, Electroni[k] will take place over five days and will offer concerts and exhibitions in four venues in Rennes.

This edition was rich in discoveries, with young electronic music producers (Zooey, Tepr, Domotic…), but also groups that bridge the gap between sound experimentation, classical instruments and video content (Berg Sans Nipple, Archipel…).

Part of the event will take place in the premises and on the airwaves of Radio Campus Rennes (Stuntman 5, Tomcats In Tokyo, Shinsei…) and another part in art galleries. The designer collective Event10 and the musician MyJazzyChild propose an unusual intervention, in the spirit of Kurt Shwitters. The result of a meticulous destructuring of 500ex. of My Jazzy Child‘s latest 45t, the installation is set up and displayed, over the course of a week, and ends up taking complete possession of the Galerie du Coin. At the same time, the sound artist Sogar took up the challenge of playing a 48-hour sound piece in the 40mCube gallery.

The format of the festival is established with founding partnerships in various forms and sets the tone for the following years.

The collective

Founded by the Ultra Violet label in 2001, Electroni[k] is now part of a network dynamic. As the development of the event requires a larger team, the founding team has joined forces with other structures: R1R2, an event production collective bringing together students from the two Rennes campuses, Radio Campus Rennes (88.4 fm), the Rennes student radio station, Mag d’U, an audiovisual production association, IASTAR, the French campus radio network and 40mcube, an exhibition space in Rennes
