Born in 1973, Fred Penelle taught lithography at the Ixelles School of Arts and engraving at the ENSAV (Ecole Nationale des Arts Visuels) La Cambre. A former student of the same school, he has been successively framer, welder, scenographer, exhibition manager, illustrator, animator, graphic designer, model maker. In parallel and as a priority, he developed a mural practice of wood engraving. He has taken part in numerous exhibitions in Belgium and abroad, notably with the Mécaniques Discursives project in duo with the video artist Yannick Jacquet. He passed away in March 2020.
