Joanna OJ creates wildly indelible sets inspired by the sounds she discovers while travelling between musical planets. She plays with emotions, moving from dream to drama, mixing light sounds, unpredictable rhythms and frenetic bass. Minimal techno, IDM oddities and experimental sounds: this is Joanna OJ‘s recipe for undisciplined sets. Her label, caninal, reflects her philosophy of staying alert, flexible and open-minded. Every month, she organises a programme called Canine on Retreat Radio in Malmö, Sweden, to showcase artists whose sensibility moves her. Every two months, she also hosts a programme called Di Troglodita on Egregore in Toulouse.
