Katarina Gryvul is a composer, sound artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Following a classical training, she turned to electronic music. Specialising in immersive and multi-channel composition, she crafts spatialised soundscapes where voices, instruments and modular synthesisers come together.

She composes for live performance, film and installations, developing works for ensembles, chamber orchestras and immersive multi-channel set-ups. As a performer and multi-instrumentalist, she employs the voice, violin and piano as well as traditional and electronic instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes and the Buchla Easel modular synthesiser.

An internationally recognised Ukrainian artist, Katarina Gryvul has performed at events including Ars Electronica, Rewire, CTM, the L.E.V. Festival, Nuits Sonores, the Festival Présences (Radio France) and Luxembourg Art Week, amongst others. As founder of the Gryvul School, she has been teaching composition, music theory, electroacoustic music and production for over 15 years, having trained more than 100 students.

She has given masterclasses at the Sorbonne and FH Salzburg. As part of the Transition to 8 project, Katarina Gryvul has also led workshops with a deliberately diverse group of participants for Electroni[k] at the Antipode.
