During his studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Lucien Bitaux invented scoposcopy, a discipline that seeks to see and represent imperceptible dimensions. Now a graduate of Le Fresnoy (Studio national des arts contemporains), Lucien Bitaux is working on a thesis in artistic creation in which he is comparing mineral materiality and cosmic abstraction. His thesis is fuelled, among other things, by astronomy courses at the Paris Observatory, where he is pursuing an experimental approach based on the manufacture of his own photographic instruments.
