Lau Sin Yi, known as Panda Waack, is a dancer, choreographer, and movement director.
Born in Hong Kong and now based in Barcelona, she has been active in the field of urban dance for over ten years, and is particularly recognized for her commitment to the whacking scene, which she has been actively teaching and developing in Hong Kong since 2015.
Her passion for movement extends beyond dance, rooted in a solid background in choreography and theater. Between 2017 and 2019, she devoted herself to studying flamenco in Granada, Spain, at the Escuela de Flamenco Manolete and the Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas, while also training in Spanish dance and ballet at the Elena Vozmediano Dance School. This multidisciplinary approach deeply enriches her unique choreographic language.
As an international artist, Panda Waack shares her vision of waacking and choreographic fusion through workshops, classes, and creative collaborations around the world. In 2022, she led a masterclass for Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music Studios titled “How to Connect Waacking and Flamenco,” affirming her innovative approach that creates a dialogue between club dance and traditional dance.
She has extensive experience performing on stage and in competitions, notably winning the Red Bull Dance Your Style Hong Kong 2024, where she represented her city in the international finals in India.

Her artistic work lies at the intersection of club dance, theater, and flamenco. She tours Europe with La Identidad de Vesania, a duet with Vinka Delgado produced by the company La Víspera. Her solo piece Beautiful Chaos was presented at Corto in Danza (Italy, 2021), the Marballus Festival (Italy, 2022), and Dansa Metropolitana (Barcelona, 2024). In 2023, she created a new solo piece, S R1950, for the Hop Festival.

Through her creations, Panda Waack subtly explores the concepts of identity, tradition, and self-expression, building bridges between cultures and styles through the power of movement.
