40mcube
40mcube is a contemporary art centre of national significance based in Rennes, bringing together in one location an exhibition space, a production workshop, an artist residency programme, a training organisation, and the Breton office of the Nouveaux commanditaires (New Patrons) network.
Designed as a space for encounter and exchange between artists, works and audiences, the centre structures its activities around several areas: supporting artists in creating and exhibiting their work, fostering dialogue in contemporary art through group exhibitions, engaging with public space and supporting citizens in artistic commission projects in connection with the national and European network of the Société des Nouveaux commanditaires, training and professional development for artists, mediation and knowledge-sharing, residencies in varied contexts, and promoting and disseminating its archives as a mediation tool.
