Nicky Assmann creates spatial installations based on the immaterial and intangible nature of light, colour and movement. Joris Strijbos focuses on the synesthetic relationship and interaction between moving images and sound. Parallel Strata is the fruit of the meeting of these two worlds and presents a composition of multiple kinetic light sculptures, based on the concept of kinetic stroboscopic light and the play of shadows, linked to the movement of the spectators. The play of shadows is created by the rotating lights and the stroboscopic effect, revealing a parallel stratum. The audience can then wander through these creatures of moving light.
This installation uses stroboscopic lights and is not suitable for people who are photosensitive or prone to epileptic seizures.
