Dognip + is an audiovisual live performance by s8jfou centered on the theme of travel, not the kind found on postcards, but the journey to the margins: archives of rave parties, fragments of personal life, images captured from the back of trains. A travelogue steeped in nostalgia that bears witness to a life lived under the radar.

Beyond this visual journey, s8jfou displays a certain musical nomadism, migrating between genres and occasionally stopping in territories he has never before explored. For this live performance, he presents the culmination of a long process of experimentation and programming his own tools, through which he crafts powerful, glitchy bass music, as evidenced by “Thoughts,” a track that perfectly illustrates his new approach to composition: building a solid foundation and then letting his programs run their course once they’re controlling the right elements, in a generative and random manner.

Serving as a living link between music and video, the screen becomes an instrument in its own right, where sound and image interact in real time.
