René Danger

© Julien Fabre

In his concerts, René Danger superposes his voice on modular synthesizers and his gameboy, mixing Breton gwerzoù (laments) and breakbeat, traditional melodies and dub or electro sounds. A style that could be described as chip-trad or gwerz-dub.

He co-founded the micro-label Editentités, with which he explores traditional and futuristic music. A DJ on LYL radio for his own programme, he is also experimenting with the radio format at Ondorphine, a dreamy pirate radio station that uses the FM band as an ephemeral channel for conviviality, knowledge and experimentation.

In between appearances on labels in Brittany and Paris, René Danger released his first album “Pacifique Atlantique” in 2019 on Supergenius Records, and his second “Randonerd EP” in 2022 on his own Editentités label. His latest album “Gwerz Boy” was released in May 2023, accompanied by a game for gameboy developed entirely by René Danger himself.
