During the day, a city-wide trail of installations combining visual arts and new technologies is proposed. Accessible alone, with friends or family, this curious excursion is an invitation to dream with eyes wide open. Particular attention is given to welcoming the audience, thanks to the presence of a mediator, or contents and tools enabling visitors to discover the installations in a different way.
Diyauto Orchestra, Simon Lazarus, S8jfou & Clara Rigaud
Kinetic art & graffiti | Electronic music | Generative fresco
Diyauto Orchestra is an interactive and immersive installation that celebrates tinkering and “do-it-yourself” in an infinitely textured universe. The creation was initiated by visual artist Simon Lazarus in collaboration with musician S8jfou, and developer and researcher Clara Rigaud.
Somewhere between kinetic art, contemporary graffiti and biomaterials, the installation is composed of a generative audio/video fresco and an archipelago of mini sculpture-instruments. The public is invited to interact with image and sound using these objects, bringing them to life and making them interact with live programs. As the instruments are explored, the visual and aural environment is created. Diyauto Orchestra establishes a playful relationship with the object: what gesture will the sculptures respond to, and what sound-image event will they produce?
Diyauto Orchestra follows on from Op·Echo, the audiovisual live show and first collaboration between S8jfou & Simon Lazarus, presented for the first time at the Electronic night of Maintenant 2022 at Antipode.
From 16:00, the Théâtre du Vieux St-Étienne begins its transformation for the Electronic Sessions. Sound tests will be carried out and may alter the visitor’s experience.
