Exuvie, Noémi Büchi

Multimedia Art | Electroacoustic and orchestral music

Exuvie (“that which has been cast off” in Latin) is an audiovisual live performance by Noémi Büchi.

Building on her previous albums, the composer continues her exploration of the tension between matter and memory. With Exuvie, she turns her attention to the body, its transformation, its history, and what remains within it after it has changed form.

The live performance combines music featuring spectral electroacoustic layers, orchestral gestures and rhythmic repetitions with images of the dancer Rebeka Mondovics, whose movements reveal the body as a living archive, a constantly evolving space. Brigitte Faessler’s visual world envelops the whole: colour, light and movement intermingle, straddling the line between analogue and digital, between the real and the imaginary. An aesthetic that evokes Francis Bacon, David Lynch and Pedro Almodóvar. Exuvie is an immersive experience where past and present coexist, their layers overlapping to the point of distorting perception.
