Subdermal, Katarina Gryvul (live)

Arts and Sciences | Experimental music | Biometric data

Subdermal is a performance that combines biometric data and electronic music to make air pollution audible.

For Katarina Gryvul, music becomes a language capable of translating what defies words. With a sense of never quite fitting into a single category, Katarina Gryvul views sound as a shifting boundary, capable of both separating and connecting, protecting and exposing. When this boundary becomes fragile, sound becomes a point of support, a means of preserving a sense of integrity and direction.

By playing with timbres, contrasts and the movement of sound through space, she composes forms that engage both the ear and the physical perception of vibrations and sonic textures.

For the Maintenant festival, as part of the Transition to 8 project, the artist presents a work created using biometric data collected during a participatory experiment on air pollution. Heart rate, skin activity and temperature variations become the raw material for an immersive electronic composition. This data is combined with the artist’s own data, captured in real time during the performance, creating a dialogue between the body, the environment and technology.

Cwtch (live)

Ambient, bass music & techno

Formed in 2023 when Fallen Tape and Pal Parallax joined forces, Cwtch has an unpronounceable name, defined less by its translation than by the feeling it evokes: that of a gentle, friendly embrace.

Brought together by a shared passion for synthesisers, the two friends initially crafted an almost exclusively analogue sound, rooted in an old-school approach to production. Their sound has since become richer and more complex: today, synthesisers and modular gear interplay with digital tools, striking a balance between intensity and subtlety, precision and randomness.

Organic and textured, Cwtch’s sound spans genres, from ambient to bass music via techno, without ever allowing itself to be confined to any one of them.

Bound By Endogamy (live)

Subversive arts | Electronic post-punk | Analogue technologies

A drum kit, a sampler and female vocals: Bound By Endogamy prove that’s all it takes for their live show. Hailing from the squat and punk scene, Kleio Thomaïdes and Shlomo Balexert form a duo where the DIY ethos takes centre stage: recording, mixing and mastering are all done in a home studio – or a ‘car studio’ should they be evicted from their home. A homemade electronic post-punk live show, well worth checking out if you’re into the sounds of bands like D.A.F. (Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft) and Kleenex.

Blood of Aza (dj set)

Post-internet MIDI lullaby

A British DJ and producer, Blood of Aza creates an electronic universe where atmospheric textures, post-internet aesthetics and subverted pop references collide. Having first come to prominence on SoundCloud through her remixes of pop and rap artists, she has made a name for herself on the underground electronic scene.

MIDI lullabies, club edits, ambient soundscapes: her sets navigate between emotion, introspection and internet culture, delving into the deepest recesses of electronic music.
