Maintenant and the Portuguese festival Semibreve join forces to commission an original creation from F. Atkinson and V. Azevedo. The former is a musician, visual artist and co-founder of Shelter Press. Her visual and musical work focuses on questions of loop, distortion, wave, abstraction, and color through installation, painting, sculpture, and improvised music. The second is an experimental musician from Lisbon who builds expansive soundscapes with her flute, voice and a full orchestra of effects pedals. Together, these two strong personalities, avant-garde musicians, invite us to a unique sound bath, presented in Rennes and in Portugal (Braga).
This concert is offered in partnership with the Institut Français, as part of the Saison France-Portugal 2022.

Violeta Azevedo is an experimental flutist from Lisbon, who builds expansive soundscapes with a full set of effects pedals. Through a hybrid ambient universe, between improvisation and composition, she creates a series of wonderfully unique and unnaturally abstract sound paintings.
